What’s the best way to get stains out of vintage clothing?

Fels-Naptha! This is absolutely the best stain remover in the world! My granny introduced me to it and I couldn’t believe how well it worked. And it’s gentle enough to use on delicate fabrics; Which is a major plus when dealing with vintage garments.

I keep mine in a plastic zip-lock bag and when I need to use it I rub a wet old toothbrush on the bar then rub the toothbrush in circular motions on the stain until  it’s gone.

I used Fels-Naptha today on a great vintage dress that was slightly blemished with rust stains. After working the rust spots I washed it alone in cold water (no detergent) and hung it out to dry.
